Abel Xavier (Everton to Liverpool)

He switched sides to Chelsea which was one of the most heated transfers in 2006, and the once celebrated Cole became a hated figure among Arsenal fans.

 

Javier Manquillo (Sunderland to Newcastle)

In 2017, Javier Manquillo, the Spanish right-back spent a complete season on loan with Sunderland. After having returned to Atletico Madrid, Newcastle signed him on a permanent transfer, even though he used to play for their rivals. He went to become one of the fan-favourites for Newcastle and made a number of appearances for the side, becoming a regular at St. James’ Park.

 

Carlos Tevez (Manchester United to Manchester City)

Carlos Tevez became unsettled and desperate to leave Manchester United, and with lucrative offers available at Manchester City, the renegade striker stunned everyone when he moved to City, the arch-rivals of his former club. While City fans rejoiced, the fans on the other side were left disgruntled and sore. However, his on and off-the-field personality didn’t really click with City fans and in the end, he never became a superstar for his club.

 

Sol Campbell (Tottenham Hotspur to Arsenal)

Labeled by fans as ‘Judas’, Sol Campbell was once a beloved figure and a star player for Tottenham Hotspur. However, the shocking announcement of his moving to Arsenal in 2001 drew a lot of hate and animosity from fans. With chants, slogans, and name calling, the supporters expressed their anger at the player up until his retirement in 2012.
