Mikel Arteta: What does Arsenal hold for him after the Premier League 2021/22 Season?
Arsenal is in bad shape and hitting bottom in this PremierLeague season. This season Arsenal had the worst start in 67 years, and the onus of failed performance is on Arteta. Currently, Arsenal is worried about the leadership and competency of Mikel Arteta. He quit Man City to take charge of the Gunners in December 2019 after the club thrashed 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
Mikel Arteta started facing the pressure after Arsenal's
disappointing loss in the last two matches of the Premier League season. First,
Arsenal lost against the newly promoted Brentford in the campaign's
curtain-raiser, then at home to Chelsea by the same score. Arsenal's supporters
are disheartened by the results of the match and how players performed.
Many reports are pointing towards Arteta for the unexpected
performance of Arsenal. He lacked courage in his convictions and made Arsenal
play in the way they simply cannot. Even after the goalkeeper, Bernd Leno
showed discomfort with the ball at his feet, Arteta made him play from the
back. Another action of selling Martinez and spending more money on a less
competent goalkeeper in Ramsdale is criticized by supporters.
Transferring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the most
condemned decisions of Arteta. Arteta started as a head coach of Arsenal though
his job title became manager in September 2020. He started participating
actively in recruitment and contractual matters; that's why the destiny of
Aubameyang rested on his shoulders. He made so many blunders and proved himself
as an inexperienced manager.
Before the transfer window closes, Mikel Arteta needs to do
a few noticeable upgrades and turn the season around for the club and his
destiny. This season, Arsenal didn't score even a goal in the Premier League,
despite investing heavily in the transfer market. We can only cross our
fingers, cheer for Arsenal, and find the best betting sites to put our money.
