Chelsea’s Hunt for a New Striker Continues

Chelsea, the football club based in London facing difficulties in replacing their old striker, Olivier Giroud. Recently, Giroud, the French International striker joined Italian Serie A side AC Milan around 1 million Euros after leaving the Champions League Winner Chelsea.

The West London-based club is considering a deal with Borussia Dortmund over Erling Haaland as their first choice for the replacement for Giroud. Dortmund is in a strong bargaining position for their talented Erling Braut Haaland after the sale of Jadon Sancho. Dortmund wants to retain Haaland for a further season while Chelsea is doing everything to bring him to their club.

Erling Haaland is one of the most in-demand players as he struck 48 goals in 51 games for Dortmund in the last season of the Bundesliga. This suggests that Chelsea could become a genuine contender for next season to convince and buy Haaland.

However, after several failed attempts to sign Erling Haaland, Chelsea has found Robert Lewandowski as the new target. Chelsea is ready to offer 50 million euros to the Polish striker, Robert, and tempt Bayern Munich and Bundesliga giants to sell him.

Chelsea is strongly considering two other players- Romelu Lukaku and Tottenham’s Harry Kane after being impressed by their performance in Euro 2020 for Belgium and England, respectively. However, both the players have rejected the offered amount and expressed their wish to remain with their present clubs and play for them in upcoming leagues.

Chelsea hardly needed any player in the club after their investment in the last off-season. But after Giroud left the team and Chelsea struggled for goals in the FA Cup final, the club requires to invest more in getting new players and securing their position in various leagues.

Analyzing the present position of Chelsea, many advocated that Chelsea should not drain their cash on Haaland and instead remain with Timo Werner though people are doubting his scoring capabilities. This could help save Chelsea millions in this season and help win a few leagues.
